The Security Event 2025 at NEC Birmingham

On Wednesday 9th April members of our team attended the Security Event 2025 at NEC Birmingham to find out more about the latest technologies and developments in the industry.  Over 400 exhibitors were in attendance, representing sectors including access control, alarm monitoring, biometrics, key and equipment storage, video surveillance, home automation, intruder systems, patrols and perimeter security, and specialist training.  We are hoping to introduce some new products and services over the coming months and are constantly reviewing our procedures to ensure they are in line with current industry standards and making the most of available resources and new equipment.

During our visit we spoke to representatives from over 30 businesses about the products and services they offer and are looking forward to pursuing leads and reviewing our options further to ensure we are providing the highest quality Guarding and Systems work that we can.  Before attending we had spent some time investigating wearable body cameras for our Guarding team, and at the event we were able to speak to HALOS and watch a demonstration of their product range which has helped us better understand our requirements so we can now move forward with gathering quotes and comparing available options.  We also spoke to the sales team from SAG regarding their NFC and RFID tagging products, which would enable us to create checkpoints that would guide and monitor our guards’ patrol routes around the sites we provide security services to, allowing for more consistency and accountability.  We currently use a range of softwares and apps to manage and monitor our Guarding and Systems teams but have been interested in what options may exist and what benefits they may offer – after speaking to Guardhouse UK, Workmana, Mentor Business Systems, InstallerPro, TEAM Software, and Sureview we have a better idea of what products are currently on the market and how they might apply to our business.

We provide Guarding and Systems services to a number of domestic properties, so while at the event we made an effort to speak to vendors specialising in home security options.  Companies such as Amalock and Monitoreal offer products designed to work with smart homes and artificial intelligence technology to provide fully integrated protection against intrusion, which could give our clients a greater peace of mind.  We also spoke to representatives from companies such as KeyNest, KeySafe, Keynetics, Deister Electronic, Loxal, Morse Watchmans, KeyTracker, and Traka from Assa Abloy who provide a variety of key storage solutions, from small individual safes to larger cabinets, which we will be researching further to see what options would be most appropriate for our clients.  Our Systems team already use some of the best products available for installations, but we picked up brochures from Ajax/DDS, AMG Systems, Sensor Access Technology, Wavestore, Beyond Batteries, and Procell to make sure we are up to date on any newly released hardware that may improve the services we can offer as well as speaking to some of the team from CCTV Hire & Sales to find out more about temporary security solutions for premises that may not want or need round-the-clock monitoring.

At Securipol Security Services we pride ourselves on the knowledge and skills of our team and are always looking out for opportunities for continued professional development, refresher training, and new areas of learning.  We were able to gather prospectuses and course information from companies such as Tavcom Training, Mercury Training, and Skills for Security and will be looking at options for all of our staff to attend courses and ensure we are providing the best services possible to our clients.  We have come away from the Security Event with lots of new ideas and possibilities for the future and are looking forward to researching and implementing these with the aims of growing our business and maintaining our reputation as high-quality security service providers for the Oxfordshire and Berkshire area.
